Michelle serves as Director of Music at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Appleton, conducting the Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, Children’s Choirs, and congregation. She strives to enhance the worship services through not only music and lyrics, but through all of the senses. Michelle achieves this with the support of the church staff, the congregation, a talented young organist, and spirited Lawrence students as Children’s Choir directors, as well as many gifted providers of special music.
Michelle was raised in Appleton, nurturing her love of music through all of the arts opportunities that are available in this community. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music Education and Business from Carroll College in 1990, and has taught private voice and piano lessons in the valley for 16 years. Michelle is currently ringing handbells in the Fox Cities Handbell Ensemble, is a past member of the White Heron Choral, and loves her role as Music Director at Huntley Elementary with their primary-level musical productions.
As a member of PAM (Presbyterian Association of Music) and AGEHR (American Guild of English Handbell Ringers), Michelle attends conventions and seminars to further her education in directing, voice care, and acquiring and beginning new ideas.
Family is at the forefront of Michelle’s life with husband Eric, children Steven and Samantha, and mother Helen Scott. She finds no greater joy than spending time together running, reading, laughing, learning and singing, and feels so blessed to be given the opportunity to work with Chaminade Chorus.
