Rebecca Deen Schmidt studied piano at the Music Institute of Chicago in Winnetka, Illinois, during the mid 1970's. Her teacher was Mr. George Banhalmi, who at the time was the staff pianist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Becky has served as accompanist for various groups in the Fox Valley, including Calvary Bible Church in Neenah and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in
Greenville. She is currently accompanist for Bass Clef, the men's choir at First United Methodist Church in Appleton.
The
2006-7 season is is is Becky's first year accompanying Chaminade Women's Chorus.
Becky is the mother of two grown sons, Zachary and Ansel (who is also a pianist and graduate of Lawrence University), and 3-year-old Annika. Her husband Al is a long- time member of the Appleton
